The dashboard has keyboard shortcuts for moving around and for the actions people repeat most. This page writes them for Windows and Linux. On a Mac, press Cmd wherever it says Ctrl. When the cursor is outside a text field, ? opens **Keyboard shortcuts**, the same list inside the dashboard. The list leaves out the shortcuts your role can't use. ## On every page | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl K | Opens or closes **Search**, the search box at the top of the page. | | Ctrl J | Opens or closes the **AI Assistant** beside the page. | | / | Moves the cursor to the search of the list on the page. | | Ctrl Shift C | Starts a new survey. | | ? | Opens **Keyboard shortcuts**. | | Esc | Closes the open dialog or menu. | / and ? work while the cursor is outside a text field. When a dialog with its own search is open, / moves to that search. Ctrl J works in a text field too, but not while a dialog such as the survey editor is open. ## Go to a section Hold Ctrl Shift and press the section's letter. | Shortcut | Section | | - | - | | Ctrl Shift H | **Overview** | | Ctrl Shift S | **Surveys** | | Ctrl Shift R | **Results** | | Ctrl Shift D | **Dashboards** | | Ctrl Shift I | **Inbox** | | Ctrl Shift M | **Email** | | Ctrl Shift F | **Workflows** | | Ctrl , | **Settings** | Ctrl , opens **Settings** without Shift. The jump to **Workflows** works only for roles with the **Manage workflows** permission. The section keys don't work while a dialog is open. ## Results | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl Shift E | On a survey's results page, opens that survey in the editor. | Opening the editor needs the **Manage surveys** permission. ## Search These keys work while **Search** is open. Typing filters the commands and finds surveys, folders and dashboards by name. | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | ↑ ↓ | Moves through the list. | | Enter | Opens the result or runs the command under the cursor. | | Esc | Closes the search. | ## AI Assistant These keys work while the **AI Assistant** is open. | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Enter | Sends the message. | | Shift Enter | Starts a new line. | | Esc | Stops the answer that is being written. While you select something on the page, cancels the selection. | ## Survey editor | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl Enter | Does what the main button in the header does: **Next step**, and on the last step **Publish**, **Publish changes** or **Send**. | | Ctrl S | Saves the draft now. | | Esc | Closes the editor. | The editor also saves every change as a draft on its own, so Ctrl S is never required. See [The editor](https://docs.usertick.com/surveys/editor.md). ## Inbox Hold Ctrl Shift and press the key. | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl Shift J | Moves to the next response. | | Ctrl Shift K | Moves to the previous response. | | Ctrl Shift Enter | Opens the response on its own page. | | Ctrl Shift E | Resolves the response. | | Ctrl Shift A | Archives the response. | | Ctrl Enter | In the note box, adds the note. | Resolving, archiving and writing a note need the **Manage responses** permission. See [The inbox](https://docs.usertick.com/results/inbox.md). ## Workflow editor These keys work in the workflow editor while the cursor is outside a text field. | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl Z | Undoes the last change. | | Ctrl Shift Z | Redoes the change that was undone. Ctrl Y does the same. | | Delete | Deletes the step or connection selected on the canvas. Backspace does the same. The trigger can't be deleted. | Editing a workflow needs the **Manage workflows** permission. See [Workflows](https://docs.usertick.com/workflows/overview.md). ## Notes and support messages In a note box and in a message to support, Enter starts a new line and Ctrl Enter sends what you wrote, the same as the button under the box.
