# QR code surveys

> Print a survey's link as a QR code for receipts, packaging, posters, tables and events.

A QR code opens the same hosted page as a [link survey](https://docs.usertick.com/channels/link.md). People scan it with a phone camera and answer in the browser, without installing anything or typing an address.

## Download the code

**1. Choose the channel**

In the editor's **Channel** step, select **Link & QR**.

**2. Download the code**

In the **Share** step, under **QR code**, select **Download QR code**, then **PNG image** or **SVG vector**.

**Enlarge** shows the code at a larger size. **Logo in the code** adds a small image in the middle of the code, separate from the survey's logo. The image is shown at about 40 pixels, so a square icon works better than a wordmark.

## Edit the survey after printing

The code holds the survey's link, and the link never changes. After the survey is edited and published again, a printed code opens the current version. To take the page down, pause the survey.

## Track each location

The code in the **Share** step holds the same link as **Share link**, including the language set under **Language**; see [Choose the link's language](https://docs.usertick.com/channels/link.md#choose-the-links-language). To tell locations apart, create a separate code for each one from the link with a parameter added, such as:

* `?utm_source=table-12` for a table card,
* `?utm_source=main-street-store` for a shop window,
* `?utm_source=conf-2026` for an event badge.

Each response stores the page address with its parameters. Don't use `a` for tracking, because `?a=` fills in the answer to the first question.

## Where QR codes fit

QR codes fit places where people are near your product but not on your website, such as receipts, packaging inserts, table cards, posters, event badges, shop windows and waiting rooms.
